Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma
Governor Hope Uzodimma on Thursday disbanded the 27 chairs of the Interim Local Government Management Committee.
The governor’s spokesman, Oguike Nwachukwu, announced the dissolution to reporters after a closed-door meeting with the presidents at Government House, Owerri.
He said Mr. Uzodimma thanked them for the services they have rendered in their various local government areas since their appointment, especially their loyalty.
He also reminded them of his determination to hold local government elections in Imo at all times.
He said the governor would appoint sole trustees to oversee the council pending the conduct of the election.
He also told the disbanded presidents of the IMC that his government would not hesitate to call upon their services in other areas of which they would have been capable as members of the APC.
In response, the president of the disbanded IMC, Willie Okoliogo of the Oru West Council promised that they would remain loyal to the governor and the APC despite the disbandment.
