Papa Mademba Biteye has been at the head of SENELEC since 2019. Previously, he was administrator of the Ministry of Energy at the Senegalese Rural Electrification Agency (ASER), the National Renewable Energy Agency (ANER) and the Steering Committee of UFC-MCA from 2013 to 2019. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and chemistry and a post-graduate degree in applied physics from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar as well as a certificate in continuing education in solar energy and a degree in electromechanical engineering.
