Bayern Munich are interested in signing Liverpool striker Sadio Mane this summer, according to Sky Germany.
Although there has been no official dialogue between the two clubs, Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic met with the 30-year-old’s agent over the weekend.
Mane is contracted until 2023 but talks over a potential new deal have yet to take place, with Liverpool focused on completing negotiations with Mohamed Salah – whose current terms also expire in 2023.
The Senegal international has made 47 appearances in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season, scoring 21 goals.
Mane has previously been linked with a move away from Anfield, with speculation surrounding his future at Liverpool sparking interest from Real Madrid before signing new terms on Merseyside in November 2019.
After the 2-2 draw with Stuttgart on Sunday night, Salihamidzic said when asked if there will be a big-name transfer to Bayern: “Let yourself be surprised.
“We have to see what is possible and what is not. We have creative ideas.”
Liverpool, who are currently three points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City, declined to comment.
They visit Aston Villa on Tuesday, live on sky sports, aiming to close the gap to Pep Guardiola’s side before playing in the FA Cup final with Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday.
