Peter obi, Vladmir Putin and Bianca Ojukwu took the top three spots for “trendy people” in Nigeria in the first half of the year, according to data compiled by Google.
Peter Obi is a Nigerian businessman and politician who served as Governor of Anambra State three times from 2006 to 2014. He is currently a Labor Party presidential candidate for the upcoming 2023 elections.
Putin, the Russian President, also caught the attention of Nigerians as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine became news around the world. Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of the late Biafran warlord, Chukuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu also sparked the interest of Nigerians after meeting here publicly with Ebelechukwu, the wife of former Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano.
A famous slap comes in at number five on the list of most trending personalities, after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars in March.

Olu Jacobs, the veteran Nollywood actor who recently celebrated his 80th birthday, tops the list of the hottest actors in Nigeria, while Raheem Sterling’s journey from Manchester City to Chelsea FC has seen him be the trending sports personality in Nigeria.
Other trending moments include Paralympic Winter Games, Chrisland School Girl, APC Presidential Primaries, Russian-Ukrainian Conflict, Kuje Prison Attack, PDP 2022 Presidential Primaries, the attack on the Church of Owo and Blasphemy Sokoto.
